album recommendations from september
Oct. 20th, 2026 03:16 pmI'm going to be keeping an archive of my "Albums Of The Month" here. Feel free to recommend music to me in the comments :D tbh I haven't updated my site to include new albums yet because these are really good as they are, but also I just haven't been listening to full albums in general lately
tldr i've been wayy too tired and haven't been able to process things, let alone think about coding new sections of my site. HOPEFULLY my condition will improve soon. ANYWAY. Here are the picks for September!
Date of Birth - the days of dreams and tears
I genuinely really love this album. If you're the type to enjoy 80s-90s Japanese rock music I'm sure you'll love it too :)
In general I recommend DOB's earlier works pretty highly, though their late 90s stuff, where they started leaning heavier into electronica, is very good too - it was my entry into learning about them and their work.
You can read more about my honestly insane love of this band on my web shrine dedicated to Date Of Birth and Planet DOB.
MARINA - Froot
Marina (formerly, '& The Diamonds') was a massive part of my adolescence and hugely formative to my music taste. Even if I'm not a huge fan of her later works I still love her sooo much. You can listen to the full album on Youtube here!
This album is the last one from her "classic" Marina & The Diamonds-flavored era, and it holds a special place in my heart. I think I may have been around 16 when this album first came out, so it was definitely a formative memory.
CAPSULE - FRUITS CLiPPER
This one's for the people who LOVE electronic music and Jpop. CAPSULE has recently captured my attention and my heart with their fascinating sound. You can listen to the 2021 remaster of this album here on Youtube.
Mort Garson - Plantasia
This one is a real classic to me. Relative to the rest of Mort Garson's work, Plantasia (formally Mother Earth's Plantasia) is probably his most famous album. Relative to the rest of the music world, however, I'd say it's still fairly "niche" and "underground" - there are people who don't even know Mort Garson's name... tragic.
If you haven't heard it, I highly recommend it to those who are fans of old school synthesizer pieces. You can listen to the full album here on Youtube.
