Welcome to the Sims 2 Default Database on Dreamwith! Back in February CuriousB, Adia, and myself started collaborating together to create a new default database, since Marja's database hasn't been updated in a while. We are currently still a work in progress, but we hope to have the community ready for sometime in July 2012.

There is still work to be done on the database, and we have discussed about adding defaults for other things such as hair, genetics, and makeup later on. We are hoping to find some moderators to help with the database - right now we are needing people to help add defaults from the community to the database so it will be a bit of work, and later help moderate the community. If you think you would be interested, please contact us! We could really use the help =] We have enough moderators at this time. =D

Heya. I'd be interested in helping out with this! Are you thinking about a person to just mine for content and pictures and do tons of linkage? I think what I'm really asking is can a lot of the content come from the abandoned database? Or are we out searching for all new defaults?

Is there a quality judgement to be made?

OK. I'm just blabbing questions all over the place. Guess I'm REALLY interested. :P

We are basically (at this point at least) needing miners and linkers :D That is what the three of us have been doing for the past wee while. Obviously, the current database has been used to find a number of the defaults out there - though we have had to do mining for the areas not currently covered (elders, for example).

So...more hands on deck to help make sure we've grabbed everything! :D here is an example of how we are setting things up in the database.

At this stage, no quality judgement is being made - the aim is to link to everything out there...

Many thanks for your interest in becoming a moderator for the Database. I'm afraid we feel that we now have as many moderators as we need for the moment, but we really appreciate your offering to help. :)

I'd like to be a moderator as well. I've got llamaloads of free time this summer, so I'll be more than willing and able to be a miner/linker.

Hi! Thank you guys for this database! It was huge work, and it would be really appreciated. I myself always over-excited about everything default-replacement, so this database will be a huge help to me as well as to other people. So I'm glad to help and I will with commenting everywhere as I'll notice something was missed.
And btw you can add database for default-replaced game objects/game accessories, like kid's stool, mop, dishes, books, etc. And another one for defaulted makeup, eyebrows, face-templates. It will be very helpful too.
